Bree Orlock Designs Disaster Recovery Fund

In the first week of June 2014, an unimaginable disaster happened to my business Bree Orlock Designs:  $4,800.00 worth of Jewelry was stolen from my car. This Fundraiser is my attempt to rebuild my business. If you cannot contribute, I understand Ė please boost the signal and pass this page along. Thank you.

My name is Bree Orlock and I do not normally ask for money this way. I am a steampunk jewelry designer and graphic artist. I am also a single parent and a transgender female. I make my living by selling my jewelry and artwork at local craft shows and conventions. I do not normally keep my jewelry stock in my car, but I was preparing for a show later in the week when it was stolen.

The amount of this fundraiser is roughly twice what was stolen so that I may not only replace my jewelry stock and rebuild my business but also replace my failing car. Unfortunately for me, the thief not only stole my stock Ė he or she also nicked the fuel line of my car making it unsafe for me to drive. Replacing my car will not only allow me to make it to shows again, but also allow me to safely drive my son to school in the fall.

Here are the current pledge levels with their Rewards:

Greetings and Salad Dressings!

I know that some of you saw a posting about this back around 2010; due to financial issues related to our last CFO, we had to shelf this and many other assignments at the time in order to center on keeping Stardust Publications in business before we could tackle any projects at the time. It took us until around the fall of 2011 to get our finances in hand to a point that we could add any more projects to our projects listing.

I would like to announce a All-Call on writers that would be interested in working on the Eternal Legends: The Chronicles of Kor'Onus RPG; fantasy setting role-playing game that will be using a modified version of the Center Stage Game System that first appeared in Dark Aeons: The Atlantean Chronicles.

All writers will need to submit a signed NDA in order to receive any assignments related to this project; you can contact us at: stardust.publications@gmail.com

Update (06.07.2011): ORIGINS UPDATES & More

Greetings one and all!

I am finally back from my long sojourn. To answer some questions...the reason why I took a break from writing and producing new products for Stardust Publications is because I had a family crisis. I can say now that sometime later this year I will be divorced and finally moved back to Cincinnati. I finally have custody of my 9 year old son and I'm not really willing to say much more than that due to the sensitive nature connected to the whys and wherefores of the separation and upcoming divorce. Now that I have my son with me, I can say that we will be moving back to Cincinnati to be closer to my folks...just more family related support in that neck of the woods.

New developments; due to the sheer strain of being a newly single parent and the owner of Stardust Publications, I have elected to appoint a Managing Editor to handle the day to day tasks of editing Stardust Publications projects. So I would like to welcome Bree Orlock of Cincinnati Ohio to the management team of Stardust Publications, she has already worked on a few projects that havent seen print yet due to the above mentioned circumstances. If you have questions about new projects and writing assignments then she is the one to talk to right now. I'll still be in the picture working on projects, but for the most part she will be handling many of the tasks that I use to handle myself.

You can reach Bree at (bree.orlock@stardust-publications.com). If you really need to reach me, I can still be contacted at (bj.baker@stardust-publications.com).

Okay, on to Origins news. Due to losing my day job and the move down to Cincinnati within the coming month, Stardust Publications will not be running events at Origins 2011. I may be able to make it up for a day to play in a few games, talk to a few people, and many if sweet talked, run an Episode of Dark Aeons; but past that its going to be more of a vacation for me than work this year. I do promise that we will make every attempt to be back at Origins 2012 to run more events with Cthulhu International.

Past that, its really early in the morning and Bree is being a slave-driver about making me type up this update for the website. You can thank her for the new look of the Stardust Publications website. It isnt dont yet, but hopefully within the next few weeks she will have it totally overhauled. So Caio! for now.

Update (05.03.2010): ORIGINS UPDATES!

Hey there folks!

Just got finished speaking with Sammi from Origins, we have had to cut some of the events that we were planning to run at the convention due to the low turn out at the times that they were scheduled for. But this shouldn't effect you folks too badly, as the only evening event to get cut was one on Thursday. We cut away the morning events for Wednesday, so there will only be the evening events on Wednesday. The Sunday morning games were cut away too due to the fact that last year no one bothered to attend those.

On the good side, we have just as many events as we host last year at Origins. This year we will be hosting the Dark Aeons LARP on Saturday evening 9pm to 1:45am. We have 20 Actor slots listed for it, but it will be possible for us to take on a few more Cast members before we close the event to new Actors,

Update (05.03.2010): ORIGINS UPDATES!

Hey there folks!

I finally have an update for you folks that were planning on playing in the Cthulhu International / Dark Aeons Events that we have planned for Origins 2010. The Events Schedule was revised slightly due to one of our Directors (GMs) having to pull out of the convention due to family obligations; but that should effect those that wish to play in our events all that much. We always have room enough for up to 9 Actors (players); although the Origins people will tell you that it maxs out at 8 Actors (players), we do have Personas enough for that 9th Actor.

I am currently working on the Dark Aeons LARP as we speak, so we should have enough room for up to 20 Actors (players) for that event, and if we get more Actors than what we planned for, then a Director will quickly help you through Persona Creation to get you out there and playing. The theme that we have for the Dark Aeons LARP is a dance club, so expect some pretty hopping music for the duration of the event.

Dark Aeons News

Hey there folks,

Some of you are probably asking yourselves the question " Where is the Psychics handbook"? I can say that it is on it way to being finished. We have a lot going on here at Stardust Publications; first and foremost myself and my family are in the process of moving into a new place in Milford Ohio. So that has been keeping us pretty busy lately, as in the last month or so (boxing up stuff in preparation for the move - which starts on Tuesday, btw).

I can say that I have been hard at work writing and playtesting new Dark Aeons Episodes that we will be releasing later on this year. The folks that play in our games at Origins Games Fair in Columbus Ohio will get to play through these Episodes first hand.

I have also been getting everything in order for our appearance at Origins this year. We're working out the details of just how this years show will go off. Nothing is solid yet; we have our events schedule set up, all of the prizes and awards boxed up, but at this point it is waiting to hear back from the Origins Executive Director to make sure that we will be able to bring you an even better show than we had last year.

In regards to the Arkham book, we're still working on it. The hard part of publishing is editing and playtesting the material to make sure that the customer gets a quality product. So in this case, we would rather take our time with the process and make the end product worth the wait than to rush it out the doors and hope that we didnt get too many things wrong.

Work is still under way on the Book of Shadows II, we still have openings for writers to work on this project in case any of you potential writers would like to work on this project.

Past that, thats about all that is going on with us. Lots of work. Hope to see you all soon at Origins.

Dark Aeons News

Hey there folks,

Many of you have been wondering "Whats going on with the Dark Aeons game line?" I'm here to answer your questions, and to allay your worries that we might be dropping Dark Aeons. The short answer is "'we aren't going anywhere, and we have no intentions of dropping Dark Aeons'.  In fact, just this past week I completed a much needed revision of the Dark Aeons core book, correcting all of the typos that appeared in our first printing of Dark Aeons, and also adding some new and revised content. In all, this revision of Dark Aeons is giving everyone a much better book than we originally released back in May of 2009. We also released a revised edition of the Book of Shadows, using the revisions that we made to the interior of the main Dark Aeons book to replace the guts in this one.

You must be asking yourselves "Whats next though?" We do have several projects in the works. First of all we plan to be releasing a Psychics Handbook for the Dark Aeons game within the next few months, it will definitely be out before Origins 2010. We also have a Book of Shadows 2 also in the works, we had originally planned to release it at around the time of Origins, but the revision process of revising and correcting the Dark Aeons core book has set our release schedule back a little bit.

Some of you got a see a pre-release copy of the Arkham: City of Secrets book at last Origins. So you gotta be asking yourselves "When is it going to finally release, given that it was due last October?" Like I said, revising the Dark Aeons core book has set our release schedule back, but I can say it Arkham will release this year, hopefully before Origins.

I have about 5 new Episodes sitting in my To-Do-Folder that we plan to release this year, at this point all that needs to be done is for me to edit them and add in the Dark Aeons system guts to make them whole. Once that is done they will be ready for release. We do plan to release these Episodes on to DriveThruPDF pretty much as soon as they get done, then later in the year we will release a print compilation of all  of the Episodes (we plan to have between 5 and 6 Episodes per compilation). Two of the Episodes are post-marked to appear in the Arkham: City of Secrets setting book.

October Fantastic Frights Sale!

As some of you folks have noticed, we have been recently placing products here at the Stadust Publications website on Sale for the month of October. All of the Sale items are marked with their sale prices. So until the end of October everyone is going to be able to load up on some of our new and older products at dirt cheap prices.

Stardust Publications Finally Releases PDFs

As some of you folks know, we at Stardust Publications had been wrestling with the option to making our new Dark Aeons: The Atlantean Chronicles books as PDFs. Part of the reason behind our reluctance was quite simply, the Gaming Market is rife with Digital Piracy going on; the sad fact is that any Digital Pirate that wants to release the books as PDFs is going to do it no matter how hard, we as publishers, try to stop them. So to make a long story short (too late :) ), we have finally released the Dark Aeons books to PDF via the well known Gaming Industry PDF sites of DriveThruRPG and RPGNow.

Along with the release of the Dark Aeons books, we have also began releasing samples of the Revised D20 Classes that we plan to release in the D20 Edition of the upcoming Eternal Legends Role-Playing Game. These sample Revised Classes are being sold for the relatively low price of $2.00 each. We plan to also be releasing a Eternal Legends Primer with portions of the Eternal Legends Core book in it that will allow Game Masters and Players to use the materials in their D20 Fantasy games.

Post Origins 2009 Update: 07.02.09

I would like to thank everyone that took the time to come and play in the Dark Aeons: The Atlantean Chronicles events that we were running at Origins 2009 (C115). All of the Episodes involved the Casts of Personas coming to Arkham to attend the Grand Collegium of the New England Region in March of 2009, and that is where all of the events of the Episodes began.

The Episodes that were run at the convention were the following;

Dreams of the Deep (DotD) - This one was very much a "Return to Innsmouth" type of Episode that involved the Actors Personas coming to the aide of an old college friend that thought he was going insane.

Post Episode Review (DotD): Most of the groups that played in this particular Episode tended to take their time in getting to the end of the Episode, which in the end tended to hurt their chances of completing the Episode. We had 1 Cast actually complete the Episode, with 2 others getting very close to the end before the event time ran out on them. In the end, I think most if not all of the Actors had a great time playing in this Episode.

What Lies Beyond (WLB) - This Episode involved the Cast being present when a stellar alignment occurred at the Great Hall of the Grand Collegium. The Personas were transported to the lost Atlantean colony of Carcosa in a distant part of the Galaxy, that is where they find the ancient remains of its destruction and a handful of Atlantean artifacts that they bring back to Earth. Once back, they find that a being dressed in tattered yellow robes (an Avatar of the King in Yellow) has come to Arkham and has begun killing the population and raising the dead. The Personas were forced to face off with their fellow Atlanteans, seemingly endless hordes of fast moving zombies, and the King in Yellow.

Post Episode Review (WLB): In almost all cases, every Cast that played in this Episode was able to complete it. This Episode seemed to be a favorite of all of the Casts.

Fire from the Sky (FftS) - This Episode involved the Cast being brought together in order to solve a series of fire related deaths that had been occurring in Arkham during the time of the Grand Collegium. Throughout the course of the Episodes the Cast is eventually led to a mining facility to the north of Arkham where they have the final confrontation with a Servitor of the Abyss.

Post Episode Review (FftS): Christopher S. ran this Episode several times during the convention, and from all accounts all of the Actors seemed to have a great time playing through this one. I originally wrote and ran this Episode years ago, and it has alot of ways and red herrings that can trip up a Cast, most of the red herrings that actually appear in the Episode were ones that the original playtest Cast created for them selves do to going on unrelated tangents during the course of the Episode. Unfortunately I did not get a chance to run Fire from the Sky during the convention, but the option will be there for me running it at 2010 for those that wish to play in it at Origins 2010.

Guess Whos Coming to Dinner (GwctD) - This Episode involved the Cast attempting to stop a Revenant and his Thralls from destroying the Dominion of Arkham during the Grand Collegium; this at its core was a story of revenge and Atlantean politics.

Post Episode Review (GwctD): This Episode ran once during the convention, and surprisingly enough the Cast was able to track down the main Antagonist within the Episode in only 2 days. The Episode normally takes about 3 days for the Cast to complete it in (3 days in the storyline). Because the Cast was so on the ball, they actually skipped several Scenes that would have made the Episode alot more difficult for them to complete. Great going guys!

In the end, I think that all of the Dark Aeons/Cthulhu International Events that we had running turned out to be an incredible success. We are now in discussions with several folks within the Cthulhuthon about running a Dark Aeons Live-Action Event or two during the 2010 Origins. We did take part in the Cthulhuthon and because of that, they generously donated about 4-5 books from Chaosium to add to our Prize Awards Table.

The winner of the Grand Prize of the convention, a signed copy of the Dark Aeons: The Atlantean Chronicles dicless rpg were; James Nutter. Great going! Many lesser prizes were awarded during the show, the favorites seemed to be the Cthulhu International Travel Journals, the Dark Aeons/Cthulhu International Bookmarks, and the Bomba Energy Drinks.

All those that are interested in playtesting this new Role-Playing Game will be required to fill out a Non-Disclosure Agreement that will insure that no one leaks any Setting or System related materials to the Gaming Industry before we a ready to do the big reveal ( which will be coming in the Summer of 2010).

If you have what you belief to be a truly awe inspiring Campaign Setting that you would like to get in print, give us a summary of your Campaign Setting and why you think it should be the next big Campaign Setting that we at Stardust Publications work with for the third new roleplaying game under the new Center Stage Game System.

If we accept your Campaign Setting, then you will be signing a Non-Disclosure Agreement and we will discuss the details with you.

All submissions should be sent to: submissions@stardust-publications.com
